Undergraduate Transfer Student University-funded Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded at the time of acceptance and are renewable for up to 8 undergraduate semesters as long as students maintain the required GPA and full-time enrollment.

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is awarded to transfer students who are members of this International Scholastic Order of two-year colleges. A minimum transfer QPA of 3.50 is required for consideration for this scholarship as well as an earned associate degree. The student must enroll at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ immediately upon graduation from the two-year college.

Proof of PTK membership is required. This scholarship is renewed if the recipient maintains a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative QPA at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ. Part-time students are not eligible for this award.

Transfer Student Financial Aid Process

Transferring to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ

  1. Contact both the Financial Aid Office at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ and the Financial Aid Office at the institution you currently attend to inform both of your intention to transfer. 

  2. Be sure that °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ has an electronic version of your FAFSA, and, if not, have a copy of your FAFSA released to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ. You can add a school at the under "Returning User > Add a School."  °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ’s school code is 003296.

  3. If you are receiving, or have been approved, for any Federal Direct Loans (Subsidized/Unsubsidized, Federal PLUS) for the year, you must notify your current institution to cancel your loan at that institution. 

  4. PLUS borrowers must complete a new application and credit decision request for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ by going to .  

Financial aid cannot be transferred from one institution to another. If you plan to transfer from another college or university to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ, you should notify your prior school that you will not return and then apply for aid at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ.

Transferring Between Fall and Spring Semesters

Students who plan to transfer between the fall and spring semesters should pay close attention to deadlines, because there is so little time between the end of the fall term and the start of the spring term. The same steps above apply regardless of when you intend to begin enrollment.

Academic Transcripts

Transfer students are also responsible for providing academic transcripts from previous college(s) to the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Admissions Office for transfer credit evaluation. Academic transcripts also will be required for measuring the satisfactory academic progress of Pennsylvania State Grant recipients as well as determining grade level for loan eligibility.
